KYC Problems Q&A (latest update: 7/7)

Given that information on KYC from other countries may not be as comprehensive.
Therefore, to accelerate the global KYC application, I am also providing you with the English version
in the hope that it can help pioneers around the world.
You can feel free to provide this post to others for reference and translate it into other languages.
Ps. There are some Fig. in the text provided in Chinese. Please correspond to the relative location on your device.

◩ 1. Camera Permissions ◪

If you encounter this error message as in Fig. 1.1,
The solutions are:
(1) Update your phone system version to the latest:
- For iOS users: update it to 15.5 up
- For Android users: update it to WebView 47 up
(The best way to do this is to update it to the latest one if the phone type could not match that,
please change your to solve this problem)

(2) Pi Browser:
Please confirm that your version of Pi browser is the newest. If not, please update.

(3) Enable camera permission:
For example, this solution will be based on iOS, as in Fig. 2.1.
Ps. Please ignore this step if your system doesn't show this permission switch button.

(4) Third-party website:
As the steps in Fig. 3.1~3.2, paste this website https://zh-tw.imgbb.com onto the Pi Browser's URL bar and enter it.
Once you get to the website page, please follow the steps to submit the camera permission.

(5) Pi Art in chat rooms:
You can use the upload function of Pi Art chat room upload function in chat.pi to get permission.
Please follow the steps in Fig.4.1~4.3 to complete this one.
Note: Please select "Take Photo" to require permission.

◩ 2. Missing Data Detected ◪
If this window pops up after you submit the data in the KYC process.
Please click the "Go back and check" link.
(1) Check the correctness of the input data:
- Neglect wrong key in of ID card (or others) number
- Incorrect name
- Address not filled out in full according to ID card or others
- Passport expired
- For example, you choose a passport but upload an ID card or other type of document.
- Wrong word

(2) Please retake a new photo:
- Take the photo again
- Make sure your environment gets sufficient lights
- Try to let the document size match the extraction screen frame when taking photos, do not pull too far or too close.
- Sufficient light, but not reflective. Avoid shadows, blurs, cuts, covering... etc.
- If your documents are damaged, worn, etc., please exchange them for another type of document (passport or driver's license that has not expired).
- The camera focuses on the headshot photo of the document.
- Try to keep the background plain when taking the photo, for example,
by placing a piece of white paper behind the document.
Note. Please try these steps a few more times, and you will succeed pass!

(3) Update your phone system version to the latest:
- For iOS users: update it to 15.5 up
- For Android users: update it to WebView 47 up
(The best way to do this is to update it to the latest one if the phone type could not match that,
please change your to solve this problem)

(4) iOS users please turn off the Live Photo function:
For iOS users, when taking photos, please turn off the "Live Photo" function in the camera for iOS users to turn off.
If you turn on this function, the photo file will be a .HEIC file, which seems to be not supported by the KYC system.

◩ 3. We are processing your data ◪
As in Fig. 6.1, it indicates that you haven't furnished the application. The solution is:
(1) Close Pi Browser
(2) Reopen Pi Browser and then enter kyc.pi
(3) At this phase, you will see the data you entered before, do not click submit.
Instead, click on re-edit data in the upper right corner (as shown in Figure 6.1.1, the upper right red circle),
and then retake and re-upload the document data again.
(4) Submit again, then you can submit successfully.
(5) You can use your phone camera, Apps, and computer software to polish the photo to make it clear and without reflection, then upload it on KYC.
(6) If still in the same circumstance, please try a few more times until you see a different page from Fig. 6.1.

◩ 4. KYC, again? ◪
Why do I have a KYC notification pop-up window again when I go to the next mining session
even though I have completed my KYC application?
Please ignore it if you are 100% sure your application is complete.
Ps. I believe it is a bug, and the community has already reported it to the Pi moderator.


◩ 5. Mainnet checklist ◪
Why is item 5 and item 6 of my mainnet checklist don't show a check mark for completion,
but I have already submitted my KYC application?
It means that your application has not been verified yet, still under the reviewing in progress,
once the data has been confirmed, then you will see the check mark,
don't worry about that.



◩ 6. What if I am under 18 years old?
At present, there is no solution for pioneers under the age of 18.
(1) Ignore the application until PCT provides the solution.
(2) Do not use other person's data to apply the KYC.



◩ 7. What should I do if the information on the documents changes in the future?
Please fill in all KYC application information precisely as the same as you have uploaded.
AI and verifier could not know your future data. Therefore, they will only identify you based on the current legal information you upload.


◩ 8. I don't know how to fill-in?
- Middle Name: Ignore it if you don't have one.
- Address Line 2: It's an optional one. Usually, you can ignore it, too.



◩ 9. KYC video verification?

If you have been unsuccessful in this process, as in Fig. 7.1, and the ellipse box keeps showing red, please follow the two points below to solve the problem until it becomes green.
(1) Make sure you have a smooth and connected internet connection.
(2) Please take pictures in a well-lit environment.

◩ 10. Picture extraction failed
As in Fig. 8.1, the solutions are as below, click on the "Reload photo" link:
- Take the photo again
- Make sure your environment gets sufficient lights
- Try to let the document size match the extraction screen frame when taking photos, do not pull too far or too close.
- Sufficient light, but not reflective. Avoid shadows, blurs, cuts, covering... etc.
- If your documents are damaged, worn, etc., please exchange them for another type of document (passport or driver's license that has not expired).
- The camera focuses on the headshot photo of the document.
- Try to keep the background plain when taking the photo, for example,
by placing a piece of white paper behind the document.
- Take the picture in a totally dark room/space.
- You can use your phone camera, Apps, and computer software to polish the photo to make it clear and without reflection, then upload it on KYC.
- Blocking any light source that causes reflection, as shown below Fig.-a

- As shown in Fig. b below, place your ID against the object (like a wall) and keep it at 90 degrees to the table,
adjust the light source from above, avoid direct light source on the ID,
and keep the lens of your phone level with the front of the ID to take the pictures.
